Building an app
Building in Play is conversational. You describe what you need, Play builds it, and you iterate until it's right.
Starting the build
Open a new chat and describe what you want. The more context you give, the better the first version will be. But you can always start simple and refine.
Good starting prompts:
“Build a customer success dashboard that shows health scores, renewal dates, and recent activity”
“I need an internal tool where the team can log and track feature requests”
“Create a hiring pipeline app with stages from sourcing to offer”
The building process
You describe - Type your request in the chat
Play plans - Analyzes your request and determines the structure
Play builds - Constructs the app, creating collections if needed
App appears - The built app shows in the right panel
You iterate - Ask for changes in the same chat
Connecting data and tools
Tag integrations in your message with / to connect external tools. Play automatically creates collections when your app needs persistent data. You can also connect to existing collections with #.
After the build
Share your app with team members using the share icon
Pin it on your Home page for quick access
Upgrade the app to push changes live when you're ready
Try it: Think of one manual process your team does every week. Open a new chat and describe an app that would handle it.
