Getting Started

Quickstart for teams

A condensed guide for team admins rolling out Play to their organization. Get your team productive in under an hour.

Step 1: Set up your workspace

Your workspace is created during sign-up. Make sure the name reflects your organization. You can rename it in Settings at any time.

Step 2: Connect your tools

Go to Assets on your Home page and open Integrations. Connect the tools your team uses daily. Popular starting points:

  • Communication - Slack, Gmail, Google Calendar

  • Data - Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion

  • CRM - HubSpot, Salesforce, Apollo

  • Finance - Stripe, QuickBooks

Each integration connects in a few clicks. Your team can connect additional tools as needed.

Step 3: Invite your team

Click the share icon from any app or go to your workspace settings to invite members. You can invite by email or share a link.

Roles:

  • Admin - Full workspace control, member management, billing

  • Member - Can build, access shared apps, and use all workspace features

Step 4: Build your first shared app

Open a new chat and build something your team needs right now. Keep it practical:

  • "Build a weekly standup tracker for the engineering team"

  • "Create an OKR dashboard that pulls from our Google Sheet"

  • "I need a customer onboarding checklist app"

Once built, share it with your team to get immediate feedback.

Step 5: Onboard your organizational context

Tell Play about your company. Share context in a chat: your team structure, goals, industry, key metrics, how you work. Play stores this as organizational knowledge that informs everything it builds.

Step 6: Create your first AI co-worker

Describe a co-worker that handles recurring work for your team:

  • "Create a co-worker named Ops that runs our weekly team status update"

  • "I need a financial analyst co-worker that reviews our budget spreadsheet every Monday"

Connect the right integrations and data, then assign them to a scheduled task if the work should happen automatically.

Step 7: Share what you've built

Invite your team to the apps and co-workers you've created. Encourage them to build their own. The onboarding checklist on everyone's Home page helps them get started independently.

Try it: Complete the onboarding checklist on your Home page. Each step takes 2-5 minutes and covers a core Play capability.
